Dimensional Dash 2.0


This is the second of the two updates promised in the last patch, focusing on atmosphere, gameplay and fixes.

We added lighting and particles to every level, making them more atmospheric. That's why we updated the Unreal version to 5.3.

[ Gameplay ]

  • Added double jump
  • You can now jump higher depending on the time you hold down "Jump"
  • Added a Boss Collectible that appears after killing your first Boss and increases in strength for every kill you ever made
  • Changed the Boss fight to make it more interesting and intense
  • Added a passive and active ability to every companion
  • Added new Tiles to every Dimension

[ Balancing ]

  • Zoomed Camera further from the character
  • Increased time before portals spawn for every consecutive run through all three dimensions
  • Increased Projectile Mana cost
  • Increased score for killing the boss
  • Increased time between spawning bats (Boss)
  • Decreased game speed-up time
  • Decreased game speed-up value
  • Decreased portal spawn chance
  • Decreased Skeleton fire rate
  • Decreased Skeleton projectile scale
  • Spawned Enemies now increase over time
  • Spike traps only deal damage now when fully charged
  • Increased the dark bat's visibility
  • The Birds Ultimate deals damage to the boss now
  • The Boss now always spawns in the Third World --> Need to defeat him first before a new portal spawns
  • Lowered detection range of "projectile throwing" enemies

[ Quality of Life ]

  • Added an option to disable Companion information on Pickup
  • Added an option to disable the tutorial
  • Added an option for Quality Settings
  • Added Navigation rules for better controller support
  • Added useful notifications on game-state-updates
  • The Shield gets disabled after entering a portal

[ Sounds ]

  • Added a Sound for blocking with your shield (hit)
  • Added a Sound for Gremlin enemies dying
  • Added Sounds for landing on specific grounds
  • Added a Sound when an ability is ready again
  • Added a Sound for collecting familiars
  • Added a Sound for spike traps (Underworld)
  • Added Sounds for using abilities (Companions)
  • Added an Entry Sound for every level
  • Added more Voice Lines to the Boss
  • The Music now continues playing when respawning
  • Changed the sliding sound
  • Adjusted some sound volumes
  • Added Sounds for new high score
  • Added Sound for no new high score

[ Miscellaneous ]

  • Added a title screen
  • Added individual level welcome banner to every level
  • Added an info widget to every familiar on collect
  • Added additional score for destroying boxes
  • Added additional score for picking up companions
  • Added Statistics (Portals entered, Boss kills, Deaths/Runs)
  • Added Statistics to endscreen (Score and Amount)
  • Added new animations for the Leaderboard

[ Bug Fixes ]

  • Fixed a bug that prevented speeding up the game more than once
  • Fixed a bug that prevented enemies spawned by the boss to despawn
  • Fixed a bug that prevented boss projectiles from slowing down the player while using shield
  • Fixed a bug that spawned multiple companion pickups
  • Fixed a bug that would show the game over screen twice
  • Fixed a bug where the shield sound wouldn't stop while opening the pause menu
  • Fixed a bug that spawned the Wall of Death too far behind when entering a new Dimension
  • Fixed a bug that did not play the wall of death sound when it was getting closer
  • Fixed a bug where all sliders other than the master won't change their sounds
  • Fixed a bug where background tiles would not allign correctly
  • Fixed cases where background Tiles would not spawn fast enough when speeding up the game
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Skeletons to throw projectiles while in dying state
  • Fixed a case of Enemy Bat despawning in front of the player
  • Fixed a bug of leaving crouch mode while under a block
